This coloring book From the River to the Sea by South African author, Nathi Ngubane, contains a series of beautiful illustrations aimed at educating children about the injustice of the Nakba and exploring the history and culture of the land of Palestine.
On February 9th, Israeli forces raided the beloved Jerusalem Educational Bookshop (featured in Aida Returns) and arrested the owners Mahmoud and Ahmed Muna in an attempt to intimidate, threaten and censor the bookshop under the pretext of this bookshop selling books that contain “incitement and support for terrorism”. This coloring book in particular was confiscated by the Israeli forces and used as “proof” of their “suspicions”.
This is just another attempt by the Zionist occupation at criminalizing and censoring to erase Palestinian culture, heritage and history which this book teaches alongside liberation to young readers through a fun and creativity coloring activity.
